Founder & Managing Partner

Tim Radjy

Tim RADJY is the Founder of and a Managing Partner at AlphaMundi Group Ltd (AMG) in Switzerland since 2008, the Chairman of the SocialAlpha Investment Fund (SAIF) SICAV-SIF launched by AMG in Luxembourg in 2009, and the Chair of the Investment Committee of the AlphaJiri Investment Fund (AJIF) registered in Mauritius in 2019. Since 2009, AMG has profitably invested more than USD 100 million in some 60 impact ventures in Latin America and Africa, through private debt and equity.
Tim is the Treasurer of the AlphaMundi Foundation 501c3 (AMF) in Washington DC since its inception in 2017, which has allocated some USD 3M in grants to date. He is also the Founder and Chair of the Gender Lens Initiative for Switzerland (GLIS), a working group created in 2021 by the non-profit association Sustainable Finance Geneva (SFG) to enhance Switzerland’s contribution to SDG5. Additionally, in 2022 Tim joined the Board of Directors of the non-profit Latimpacto, the premier network of impact-driven investors in Latin America.
Tim previously worked for a year at MSCI in Geneva as an Emerging Markets index analyst, and for 7 years at UBS Wealth Management in Zurich mostly, where he integrated the Family Office Consulting Group and then became a founding member of UBS Philanthropy Services for UHNWI clients. He also spent time in Bolivia, assessing microfinance programs on behalf of the Swiss Development Agency in 2006, and served as a fundraising advisor to WWF International in 2009-2010. Tim was listed among the 100 personalities of Switzerland for the transition to sustainability by the national daily Le Temps in 2019. He holds a Degree in Political Science from the University of Geneva and a Private Banking Diploma from UBS, gives occasional lectures on impact investing at various universities, and is fluent in French, English and Spanish. Tim is based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Managing Director

David Maina

David MAINA has been with AlphaMundi for over 8 years and is currently Managing Director. At AlphaMundi, David has overseen over 30 transactions. He is based in Nairobi, Kenya, with over 17 years’ experience in the financial sector. He previously worked at Abraaj Group as an Associate, where he was instrumental in the implementation of a Fund Accounting and Portfolio Management ERP, and also worked in the investment department. Prior to joining Abraaj, he was working in a corporate finance firm focusing on small and medium enterprises. David holds a Bachelor of Education in Economics and Mathematics from Moi University and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA) from Strathmore University. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from the United States International University – Africa (USIU).

Director

José Darío Lozano

José Darío LOZANO is a Managing Director of AMG LATAM, with 14 years of experience in finance including project finance, company valuation, financial modeling, financial planning, loan structuring and economic research. Josè led Alphamundi’s LATAM team through several transactions including secured loans to 3 FinTech’s, a loan to a Mexican real estate developer, the analysis of low-income housing project in Colombia, a secured loan to Mexican microfinance institution, among other investments. Before joining AMG in May 2020, Jose worked as the equity manager, fund structuring manager and BI director of an asset manager; worked in financial planning (restructured loans worth USD 150M) and worked at a boutique investment bank in transaction related to public transport, Telcom providers, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure. Jose holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes and a MBA from IE Business School.

Maria del Sel

Maria Del Sel

Maria brings over 10 years of experience, beginning her career in the Banking and Fintech sectors, while contributing to Microfinance and Financial Inclusion initiatives in Argentina. She subsequently transitioned to Corporate Sustainability Consulting in Spain, where she has spent more than four years supporting companies in diverse industries, such as mining, food, fishing, cosmetics, chemicals, textiles, and pharmaceuticals.

As a consultant, Maria has collaborated in organizations in different sectors and worked with various sustainability standards, including B Corp certification, helping businesses adopt more sustainable models and improve their operational practices, and transition their corporate strategies to incorporate sustainability. 

At AlphaMundi, Maria leverages her strong project management and coordination skills, combined with a strategic mindset, team leadership, and an execution-driven approach, to drive key initiatives forward.

She holds a BSc in Business Administration and a Postgraduate degree in Finance, both from Argentina, her home country, as well as a Master’s in Sustainability and Innovation from EADA Business School in Barcelona, where she is currently based.

 
Investment manager

Maria Daniela García Navarro

Maria Daniela brings 9 years of experience in Finance, demonstrating a strong commitment to driving positive change. Her expertise in Corporate Finance spans project valuation, financial modelling, and investment strategies across diverse sectors such as agribusiness, renewable energy, airport infrastructure (PPPs), and hospitality. With a proven track record in asset management and notable achievements at a leading private equity firm in Colombia, Maria Daniela has provided strategic guidance on 2 Boards of Directors, fostering sustainable growth and profitability. She has excelled in evaluating new projects, leveraging financial models to optimize outcomes, including supporting extensions to airport concession contracts. Moreover, she has experience in credit analysis. Some highlights in her career include raising approximately USD 4 million in debt financing, devising business plans to enhance operational metrics in agribusiness, and overseeing debt restructuring totalling around USD 5 million. Maria Daniela has also contributed to financial modelling for an equity acquisition valued at approximately USD 13.5 million. She holds a BSc in Finance and International Relations from Universidad Externado de Colombia, as well as an MSc in Finance from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK.

INVESTMENT MANAGER

Clare Sewell

Clare SEWELL has 17 years of professional experience primarily in impact investments and strategy consulting across Europe and Africa. Since 2015 she has been based in sub-Saharan Africa and working across the agriculture, finance, retail and WASH sectors. She has advised a range of impact investors, development organizations and local businesses across East and Southern Africa. Previously she was an Associate Partner for nine years at OC&C Strategy Consultants (a leading UK strategy consulting firm). She has participated in the analysis, due diligence, structuring, execution and exit of several transactions (worth over USD 500 million) in Kenya, Tanzania, the UK and Europe. Clare holds a BA in Economics and Management from Oxford University.

Eliana Summer-Galai​

Eliana SUMMER-GALAI is an Associate at AlphaMundi in Switzerland. She has over 10 years experience working in the impact sector, in humanitarian and development ecosystems. Previously Eliana worked as Country Director for a non-profit in South Sudan, implementing emergency protection programs for women and children. Prior to that Eliana worked as a consultant, both with Dalberg Global Development Advisors and as an independent consultant. She also has private sector experience, working with several start -ups in Israel. Eliana holds a MSc (distinction) in Prosperity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship from University College London, a BA (cum laude) in Government, Diplomacy and Strategy from the Reichman University in Israel, as well as a Certificate in European Studies from the Center for European Studies, and a Certificate in Sustainability Sciences from the University of Tokyo.

Delck Wahome​

Delck WAHOME is a Senior Analyst based in Nairobi, Kenya. He has over 5 years of experience in management consulting, investment readiness, and fundraising across Sub-Saharan Africa, having worked with early growth-stage startups and in management consulting. Prior to joining AlphaMundi, Delck contributed to high-impact projects in various sectors and geographies including supporting fundraising for venture capital funds in South Africa, aiding growth-stage startups in capital raising, and participating in investment readiness projects in East and West Africa. Delck holds a BSc in Financial Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and is pursuing an MSc in Finance and Investments at the University of Nairobi. He joined Alphamundi in May 2023 and is currently overseeing 2 transactions.

Relationship Manager

Juan Pedro Coello de Portugal

Juan Pedro Coello de Portugal is Alphamundi’s Relationship Manager, overseeing fundraising and business development. Before joining Alphamundi, Juan Pedro spent three years as the Fundraising, Marketing and Impact-ESG Manager at Persistent, a climate venture builder focused on Africa and based in Zurich. In this role, he successfully raised USD 10 million in Persistent’s Series C Equity round and secured a EUR 54 million mandate from the CEI Africa Foundation, co-managed with Triple Jump. He also developed Persistent’s Marketing Strategy and built its ESG and Impact framework and measurement.
 
Prior to that, he contributed significantly to business development and marketing at responsAbility Investments in Zurich. Earlier, he coordinated investment proposals and market research as part of the Climate Debt Financing investment team.

Juan Pedro’s extensive experience also includes nine years at BNP Paribas Asset Management in Paris and London. Notably, he launched and developed the BNPP AM Investment Academy, a global training program for key clients, and held various roles in sales, client service and marketing.
He travelled South America backpacking for five months in 2012 and for fifteen years he was also a volunteer for CISV, an international NGO on Intercultural Peace Education.

He holds an Executive Master’s in Marketing and Sales from ESADE (Barcelona) and SDA Bocconi (Milan), as well as degrees in Economics and Law from Universidad Carlos III (Madrid).
Juan Pedro is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and is fluent in Spanish, English, French, German and Italian. 
Investment Analyst

Juan David Leon

Juan David León joined AlphaMundi as investment analyst in January 2024, after a 6-month internship with AlphaMundi. Mr Leon has participated in multiple transactions in Alphamundi across diverse sectors such as renewable energy, finance, and education. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business management from the Universidad de los Andes of Bogotá, Colombia where he got experience in consulting projects with an oil & gas company and research of sustainable supply chain. Mr. Leon participated in an academic exchange at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois (2018-2019) and is fluent in Spanish and English.
